The Offices Remodel at Fernando Rivera Intermediate School focused on enhancing campus security, improving the functionality of administrative and support areas, and providing more effective spaces for staff and student services. The project included the relocation of the main office, counseling offices, and wellness room, as well as the creation of a new teacher work room.
The main office was relocated from the center of campus to the front of the school, providing a secure and easily accessible entrance for visitors and improving overall campus supervision. The relocation also complements the previously completed Thomas Edison/Fernando Rivera Site Improvement project, completing the secure front entry and welcoming campus gateway.
Within the new main office, three drop-in offices were also included to accommodate visiting specialists who provide services such as speech therapy and other support programs on a rotating schedule. These flexible offices also offer private meeting space for sensitive conversations with parents or law enforcement when needed.
The counseling offices and wellness room were strategically located adjacent to the new main office to enhance accessibility, privacy, and coordination of student support services. The wellness room, now directly connected to the counseling suite, allows staff to provide immediate assistance while maintaining transparency and oversight.
The former main office space was repurposed into a dedicated teacher work room adjacent to the existing break room, providing additional workspace for teachers while establishing clear separation between work and rest areas.
Together, these improvements have created a safer, more efficient, and supportive environment for staff, students, and visitors.
