This project involved a thoughtful expansion and reconfiguration of the home to create a more open, functional, and cohesive living environment. The scope included an addition to the family room and a new clean-burning gas fireplace as the new focal point. A 12-foot sliding door off the family room, along with engineered large windows along most of the north wall, was added to maximize natural light and take full advantage of the surrounding hilltop views. The kitchen was opened up and fully remodeled, complemented by a full walk in pantry and open dining space for informal gathering. Off the garage we added new mudroom and guest shower. Finally, new french doors were added off the master suite to ensure every part of the house felt refreshed.
Exterior updates included a new covered front porch with a gable end and warm wood finishes, along with a complete exterior repaint to better harmonize with the surrounding landscape and architectural context.
A comprehensive set of material and mood boards were developed to guide the design direction, with a focus on the client’s love of rich textures and natural warmth. The interiors feature a layered mix of wall and ceiling treatments including brick accents, wood beams, and board-and-batten details. The kitchen featured translucent warm-toned natural quartz countertops paired with copper highlights such as a hammered copper sink and copper range backsplash, and inviting wood finishes throughout. The result is a home that feels both grounded in its surroundings and deeply reflective of the client’s personal style.
Note: A limited number of final photos were captured, In many cases, clients settle into their homes before all finishing touches are complete, and we prioritize their comfort and privacy over additional site photography.
