Gilroy Center for the Arts
Proposed Rendered Interior Renovations and Exterior Addition

Completed while employed at Weston Miles Architects
Role: Interior Design and Concept Visualization
Location: Gilroy, CA
Year: Completed in 2019
Budget: $2,800,000
With the growing popularity of downtown Gilroy, the goal was to transform the Gilroy Center for the Arts into a vibrant community hub. The new exterior features curated art displays that engage the public and invite exploration. Large storefront windows and roll-up doors establish a seamless connection between the interior and exterior, creating an open and welcoming entry experience.
Inside, the design fosters a sophisticated, quiet atmosphere by darkening the ceilings to reduce visual noise and draw attention to the artwork. Strategic lighting and an adaptable art hanging system enhance the display of featured pieces, ensuring they remain the focal point of the space. These elements work together to provide a refined and comfortable environment suited for both entertainment and artistic engagement.
